ORYX

Product group: Mechanization

The ORYX by POUCHAIN is a self-propelled potato harvester designed to combine harvesting performance, cleaning quality and operator comfort. Manufactured in Villers-au-Flos, in the Pas-de-Calais, it benefits from the expertise of a French manufacturer with close ties to growers.

With a screening area of 45 m², the ORYX ensures a continuous flow of potatoes from the point of harvesting to the hopper. Its screening, haulm removal and separation systems remove soil and plant residues whilst preserving the tubers.

The numerous settings accessible from the cab allow the driver to adapt the machine’s operation to the conditions of the field. Cameras and control screens make it easy to monitor the harvest. The ORYX thus combines precise settings, ease of operation and efficiency in the field.

Briefly describe what is NEW. This explanation will be submitted to the expert group and will be decisive in the evaluation and selection of the most newsworthy entries. (max. textarea: 600 characters)
The ORYX’s new display brings together the harvester’s information, settings and controls on a single screen. A dynamic, colour-coded representation of the machine allows the operator to visualise which components are active and to identify faults or potential blockages. Each component can be selected directly to access its settings, including individual adjustment of conveyor belt speeds and the ability to reverse their direction of operation. This centralised control system simplifies operation and speeds up maintenance.

Added value for the user (in commercial terms, user-friendliness ...)
By enabling the machine’s components to be precisely adjusted to harvesting conditions, the interface helps to minimise blockages, mechanical stress and component wear. A smoother flow of tubers helps to reduce impacts and quality losses. The dynamic visualisation of the machine makes it easier to understand how it works and to learn the settings. It thus enhances drivers’ technical proficiency and supports the professionalisation of the sector through more accessible, precise and responsive operation.
