Tine cultivator:  HIGHLANDER

Introduction:

Kuhn presents the Highlander, its new tine cultivator, designed to meet a wide range of cultivation requirements: shallow scarifying, breaking up and incorporating crop residues and weeds, levelling, and preparing the soil for intercropping. This cultivator has an adjustable working depth of 3 to 20 cm.

Features:

HIGHLANDER ENSURES INTENSIVE MIXING thanks to its 4 rows of NSM tines and a 70 cm clearance beneath the frame, guaranteeing a continuous flow of soil without blockages. This design optimises the distribution of organic matter, accelerates its mineralisation and improves soil bearing capacity.

Fitted with specialised tines, the HIGHLANDER PERFORMS PRECISE HORIZONTAL SCALPING from as little as 3 cm, with an effective working width increased by the 20.7 cm tine spacing. Scalpning ensures a uniform root zone, limiting competition for water and promoting successful pre-sowing cultivation.

Thanks to its adjustable working depth range of 3 to 20 cm and its wide choice of attachments, the HIGHLANDER ensures precise soil preparation in spring, effective stubble cultivation between crops and intensive mixing of crop residues in autumn, to SECURE EVERY STAGE OF THE CROP MANAGEMENT CYCLE.

THE NSM TINE: THE KEY COMPONENT

With 350 kg of tip pressure, the NSM tine ensures consistent penetration even in difficult soils. Its 3D spring-loaded safety mechanism provides 18 cm of vertical clearance and 10 cm of lateral clearance, minimising stone lift-off whilst keeping the tine firmly in the soil. The tine is fitted with a shear bolt, guaranteeing optimum protection of the chassis for maximum safety in extreme conditions. This design ensures a stable and precise position, which is essential for consistent and even work.

Reliable, maintenance-free tine safety With HIGHLANDER, KUHN offers a patented solution to the limitations of conventional spring-loaded tine safety systems. Thanks to the offset spring, the tine’s behaviour on impact is no longer unpredictable: it is perfectly controlled. This control allows forces to be channelled towards a rolling system rather than a friction-based one, which significantly reduces component wear. Working depth precision, even in the first few centimetres of soil, is markedly improved. The result for the user: more reliable safety in real-world conditions, less maintenance and a significantly extended service life, ensuring high-performance and consistent soil cultivation.
