CARAH’s Experimentation and Crop Warning Service, part of an organisation affiliated with the Province of Hainaut, supports farmers through applied research, technical advice and crop monitoring. It conducts trials on varieties, fertilisation, crop protection and biostimulants across different crops.

In potato production, its work focuses on varietal susceptibility to late blight, fungicide strategies, early blight and all other crop-related inputs. The service also provides late blight and early blight warnings by combining field observations, weather data and forecasting models. The VigiMAP platform enables growers to monitor risks at field level and improve the timing of their interventions. Results are shared through training sessions, trial visits and technical meetings, helping farmers combine profitability, reduced input use and sustainability.
