The Walloon Agricultural Research Centre (CRA-W) is a public-interest organization of the Walloon Region. Located across three sites (Gembloux, Libramont and Mussy-La-Ville), it employs approximately 400 staff members. It combines scientific research, service and support activities for farmers, livestock breeders, horticulturalists, foresters and operators in the agri-food sector.
Current research specifically focused on potatoes covers variety breeding, research on late blight, nitrogen fertilization management, trials of robust varieties, and the evaluation of plant protection products.
CRA-W also provides services such as the virological testing of potato seed, the production of initial planting material, and the assessment of culinary and technological quality.
