Yellow nutsedge is one of the most persistent weeds in arable farming and a major problem for potato growing: it spreads through small tubers in the soil and with machinery from field to field, and tackling an infestation early is the only way to keep it small. Croptic detects yellow nutsedge from the drone. Our AI model recognises the plants in the drone images and puts them on a map, so you know exactly where the patches are and how big they are. From that comes a task map for the sprayer, or a map to go and treat the patches in a targeted way. This lets you follow an infestation year after year and see whether your approach works.
