The Walloon Agricultural Research Centre (CRA-W) is a public interest organization of the Walloon Region. Located on 3 sites (Gembloux, Libramont and Mussy-La-Ville), it employs about 440 employees. It combines scientific research, service and support functions in support of Walloon farmers, stockbreeders, horticulturists, forestry producers and operators in the agri-food sector. Current research, specifically dedicated to potatoes, focuses on plant breeding, research on late blight, management of nitrogen fertilization, testing of robust varieties, evaluation of plant protection products and innovative cultivation techniques in terms of tillage, organic cover and variety mixtures. CRA-W also offers services such as virological testing of seed potatoes, production of initial material, and analysis of culinary and technological qualities.
