About the Solana Group

The Solana Group develops modern potato varieties and produces and markets high-quality seed potatoes. Its portfolio comprises more than 60 varieties for a wide range of applications, including table potatoes, French fries and starch production. Solana potato varieties are marketed in around 50 countries worldwide. The Group cultivates more than 10,000 hectares of agricultural land in Germany and Poland.

In addition to breeding and distribution, Solana employees provide expert advice to national and international customers and oversee the organisation and execution of international logistics.

The long-established, independent, family-owned company employs around 250 people worldwide and is led in the fourth generation by Leo von Kameke. The Group includes Solana GmbH, headquartered in Windeby (Germany), as well as breeding stations in Windeby (Schleswig-Holstein), Ranzin (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) and Emmeloord (Netherlands). It also encompasses the agricultural operations in Germany essential for seed potato production, located in Ranzin, Bömitz, Kassow, Stöffin, Stolpe, Windeby, Gransebieth and Sekam (Poland). In addition, the Group has sales companies and shareholdings in ten countries.
