RMA-Techniek supplies everything in the field of inspection and sampling of potatoes, from manual machines to fully automated lines.
Baking color determination is a labor-intensive process and is still mainly performed manually. Through our "RMA RoboFry" there is a possibility to automate this process as well. A sample of potatoes is fed in at the beginning and fried (already classified by frying color) fries come out at the end.
First, sticks are cut from the core of each potato, the starch is rinsed off and then the sticks are blown dry. The "RMA RoboFry" is equipped with multiple frying baskets to make the process as continuous and smooth as possible. By means of a linear guide, the sticks are transported to the proper basket. When the frying process of the sticks is over, they are unloaded onto a conveyor belt. The conveyor belt passes the sticks under a camera that classifies them by baking color.

With the "RMA RoboFry", sticks can be cut, fried and classified by baking color fully automatically 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Because this process is automated, capacity can be greatly increased. This creates an opportunity to perform more and larger samples. Above all, the results of the baking color determination are pure because each step in the entire process is completed and assessed exactly the same for each potato.

In the potato industry, the "RMA RoboFry" can make a difference in determining the quality of fries in the taring process. In this process, each fry stick is made, baked and assessed in the same way. Because the frying color is assessed via a camera with always the same lighting, the classification is always identical. In addition, the process is much less labor-intensive, making the entire inspection process faster and easier with an identical end result.
